Opening and closing ceremonies of the international congress
The guardians of an Israeli charity foundation that unites the global elite of the Jewish community gathered in Moscow. The organizers requested the Blumenkrants team to implement two authentic hospitality concepts and to arrange a reception "a la russe" and a truly Georgian gala dinner on a grand scale.
The ILR congress (International Leadership Reunion) is held by the charity foundation Keren Hayesod that supports and finances educational, cultural and religious projects of the Jewish community. Among the patrons of the foundation, there are heads of international corporations, investors and philanthropists from 40 different countries.
The congress takes place once every two years in one of the world capitals. The previous one was held in 2017 in Toronto. During these meetings, the organization members discuss the results of their work and future plans, while the guardians get to know the culture of the hosting country and the local Jewish community and socialize in an informal environment. In 2019, 200 foreign guests were invited to the Russian capital. The agenda of the congress included visiting cultural and historic monuments, museums and theatres, as well as meetings with the country officials, including the Russian President.

The music band Arfasound took care of the atmosphere at the event. Other performers included the Israeli opera singer Felix Livshitz, kavalierbariton Konstantin Rittel-Kobylyansky, and the The Alexandrov Ensemble, who prepared a special programme for the reception in the Pashkov house.
Among the dinner invitees were the investor and entrepreneur Michael Mirilashvili, the head of the Keren Hayesod foundation Sam Grundwerg, the Mayor of Jerusalem Moshe Lion, Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Danny Danon, the owner of the Israel Hayom newspaper Sheldon Adelson, businessman Alexander Mashkevich, CEO of the Westfield Corporation and chairman of Football Federation Australia

The gala dinner took place at the private mansion of one of the foundation guardians who lives in Moscow. The host is of Georgian origin, so the event was organized in the national style, with its proper traditions and the typical Georgian hospitality.
We installed a tent in the garden that covered an improvised Georgian market, with multiple stands abundant in fruit and vegetables, nuts and sweets. Guests could taste freshly squeezed juices and kosher chacha brought from Georgia specially for this dinner. There was also a masterclass how to make and eat khinkali — a Georgian speciality. The venue was decorated with authentic objects and accessories, as well as carpets and paintings of Georgian painters from the private collection of the host. The kosher dinner took place in the banquet hall, accompanied by an entertainment programme.
Guests enjoyed the performances of the dancing ensemble Metekhi, the Georgian polyphony performed by the Suliko band, Turetsky Choir with a mix of popular Russian and Israeli songs and the People's Artist of Georgia and Russia Tamara Gverdtsiteli.

For this event, we developed the concepts for two gala dinners, so that the guests could learn something about the conference organizers and about Russia as the hosting country. Our team did an excellent job. But I believe that our main achievement was that we managed to keep the soul of such an official event. The military orchestra at the opening dinner received an ovation before and after their performance. The atmosphere of the closing dinner reminded a family celebration. Sincere emotions are rare for events of this kind, that's why it was especially nice to watch that the hospitality on the highest level can be at the same time elegant, genuine and heartfelt.
